Characteristics

Cotyledons:
Oval to oblongly oval. Stalked. Smooth surface. Length approx. 1-3 mm.

True leaves:
Egg- to lancet-shaped with slightly serrate leaf margins. Stalked. Clearly hairy surface. Length approx. 3-5 mm.

Mature plant:
The species is a medium-sized plant with 20-60 cm high, erect stems. The plant feels stiff and hispid to rough. The 3-5 mm broad flower heads sit in a richly branched panicle. The seed production ability is unknown.

Seed:
Rod-shaped with lancet-shaped to elliptical cross section. At one end 2-3 mm long pappus hairs can be seen, which fall off easily, however. Otherwise, the surface is smooth with sparse hairs. The thousand grain weight is unknown.

Propagation and dispersal
Only through seeds.

Habit
Summer and winter annual.
