Characteristics

Cotyledons
Oval with entire leaf margins. Sessile. Smooth surface. Length approx. 4-6 mm.

True leaves
Lancet-shaped, narrower towards the base. Hairy surface. Length approx. 6-10 mm.

Mature plant
Marsh Cudweed is 5-10 cm high with an erect stem. Densely whitish felted at the top. Flower heads in clusters at the upper axils. The membraneous part of the bracts is pointed, often entire.

Propagation and dispersal
Only through seeds.

Habit
Summer annual.

Importance

The species can be found on farm land, in gardens, near ponds and lakes. Only at large densities of Marsh Cudweed is there any real loss of yield in the crops.
